body lift install question.
#21
After reading the instructions on 4crawler, I really want to get this kit. But its way too cold out to do this lol. Snow on the ground and the high today was 25 (i know its colder in other places). I cant believe I wanted to have a shop install this. Looks so easy.

You can defantly do it yourself, no expensive tools needed. You need to cut + weld your shifters (4crawler does not have the weld in extensions, his screw on kinds might not clear the floor board). But this can be done by someone else in about 30 mins.
Just have two jacks, some 2x4's (about 10" long), baisic hand tools and some penetrent lube.
Be aware, your battery cable might be a little tight after, mine was fine after a little re-routing.
My intake also needed to be modded (I flipped the elbow, then a few days alter did the ISR mod).
Gas filler neck might be short, mine leaks a few drops if I park my truck with a full tank (on an incline).
Spray the stock bolts with penetrent a few times a week before you attempt it.
I would wait till it gets warmer outside. We did mine in the rain and it SUCKED.

for your question about the rear bumper, the bumper is attatched to the body so thats why there is no rear bumper lift bracketry. and i would go with 4crawler.com. i bought a mild 1" from him that is waiting installation (will be for 2 more months) but, the extra price that you may pay, is worth it. the blocks are the proper diameter for the specific vehicle, there not universal blocks that are used in all kits. i understand that people havnt had problems with the ones from performance and else where but knowing that your body lift was made specifically for a 4runner should give you a little piece of mind. if you read through the body lift page on 4crawler.com, having proper diameter will make much more sense. but this is just my opinion. good luck with whatever you decide on.

I have the ISR mod now, how bad is it gonna mess with it?
Dont buy the shifter extensions from 4crawler tho?
I am going with a 2'' BL just because it is going to look funny with my small tires (30x9.5R15)
One other thing, if my bushings on the body are cracked and i dont wanna drop 140 for new ones, could i just keep the current ones in there?
