you have the basic idea, generally cutting and spicing the bed to eliminate excessive overall hang, helps improve approach/departure angles.

Bob the bed. Then exo it. Make it a removable one though. I don't like the look of the flat bed and tube rear ends. Especially with as good of shape as the rest of the truck is in.

What do you guys think of this bed or something like it?



Part of me is thinking about doing a bed like this and then turning my bed and camper shell into a trailer for camping and hauling gear around.

ok im going to be dumb again with your truck right? you going off roading right? and you have a tall big lift right? so heres were im stuck......how the heavens do you get the back end of that thing stuck anywhere???? you try to back up a wall do you?? cause it just looks like you'll be fine but hey your the one driving not me but heres your answer bob it get rid of that a$$ then xo her like the red runner looks good clean and yet very useful but thats just me though good luck on this man

Cutting the bottom portion of my bed and making a high profile bumper helped but trust me, I bash it plenty. I bashed the crap out of it on this run falling into ravines with the rear tire (I never said I was the best driver!).
