Blocks Vs. Chevy 63's for rear lift
debating whether to use 63's for some lift in the back or blocks, shackles and extended U-bolts i know 63's have more use than lift but at this pooint i dunno if i want to go through with putting the 63's on or just buying some beefier shackles and tightening the tortion bar up front for a little lift
front end is ifs

Why would you need new perches?
I've installed Chevy leaves. You don't need to rotate the perches.
Crank the torsion bars and install Chevy leaves.
The ride is much better, it beats riding on the bump stops.
Longer shackles do not improve the ride quality.
Zuk mod limits up travel and balljoint spacers mess with your front end geometry.

ok, maybe i got my terminology mixed up....what i meant to say is "spring hangers" on the frame, not perches on the axle -- if you're installing a leaf spring that is longer than the stock leafs, you will have to weld on new mounts.

Your ride is probably already terrible, you won't gain anything but height from blocks. Ride will not improve, only get worse quicker (more leverage on the springs).
To install the chevy leaves, you need 3" C-channel or 3" square tubing, a drill press, a welder (w/someone who can weld) and some new U-bolts.
Check out the pirate4x4 thread for 63" chevy leaf swap.
From memory, the front spring mounts move forward like 8-3/4" or 9".
What I did was lift the rear of the truck so you just take the weight off the springs. Remove one spring, install one chevy spring with the mount and then position the mount. Tack it in place, repeat on the other side. You can build new shackles to match as well.

I got my chevy leafs for about 25 bucks. And I'm recycling old motor mounts for the spring hangers.
