BJ Spacers, Cruiser Coils, OME shocks,
Hey folks,
Newbie here trying to clarify & organize some info.
We've got a '91 4Runner we want to lift and run 33's using the SDORI spacers and some new coils or spacers in the rear. We currently have Downey torsion bars, NWOR rear coils (about 1 1/2" lift when new 8 years ago), Bilsteins F&R (old), with a Ramsey winch & brush guard up front, and a 11 gallon NWMP spare fuel tank in the rear, with full size spare, hi lift, and power tank mounted on the swing away carrier.
We'd like about 3 - 4" of lift over stock, and good flex, with a good ride height balance front to rear when loaded (camping gear, sleeping platform, dogs, etc.).
Question is: Are we better off using the stock cruiser coils (I believe from 1997), or will the OME springs/SDORI spacers and OME shocks get us there in the rear combined with our t-bars and OME shocks up front.
Was thinking of this package deal:
http://www.trdparts4u.com/PD-4RUNNER....aspx?MakeID=1
If the cruiser coils are better, can someone explain what coils (front or rear) we need (maybe part #'s or specific apps).
Thanks for your help, sorry for the long winded explanation.
Great site, great info.

I was in this same boat a few months ago and I ended up going with cruiser coils but only for cost reasons. They won't give you 4" of lift, it'll be more around 3, but with all of the stuff you have in the rear it might be less. They're very soft once they're on and I sometimes wish I had done something different, but I usually love them.
If you do go with the landcruiser coils, you'll want the rears.
Before with bald 31's:
After with 33's:
There's plenty of clearance for the 33's, I didn't even crank the torsion bars with the bj spacers and they fit well.
