if its not in the oil pan your never gona find it w/o tearing down the entire engine. The magnet on the bottom if the oil pan is a good idea if it is there. If it dropped into a coolant passage then it may prevent flow and possibly over heat your engine

I only had the valve cover off, not the head, so it couldn't have fallen into a coolant passage.

I talked to a friend of mine who's been a mechanic for 35+ years and he said it was ok to leave it. So I put the valve covers and intake back on. I drove it at least 40 miles and it seems to be fine. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

If ya ever do get a bug to find it and remove it, or for anybody else' reference, the 3.0 can be lifted up enough to remove the oil pan without removing the diff.

I never confirmed the whereabouts of the blade. I've since driven over 1,600 miles into Mexico and haven't had an any problems. I'm due for an oil change so I'll see if theres any metal slivers or shards in the oil.

lol. That's a good one.

It'll probly be me tearing into it. Once it's starts to die on me I'd like to rebuilt it myself.
