better milage

Tell us about the configuration of your truck. Engine, tranny, gear ratio, tire size, ect???
I have a '95 Runner equipped as in my signature below that gets 18-19.5 mpg on 10% alcohol 87 octane fuel. It doesn't get much better than that with a 3.slo.
Most guys are thrilled to get 14 to 16 mpg from them. There is little you can do to improve mileage, but reduce any weight that you might carry, avoid jackrabbit starts and stops, keep speeds 65, or under. and make sure that your truck is tuned correctly with high quality Japanese parts. Many of the supposed economy mods like 'cold air intakes' and such make little, or no improvement in economy.
Hope you enjoy your new machine. I love my '95! I drove it on a 150 mile picnic cruise today.
