Best donor vehicle

If I give up on the 3.0 and swap to the 3.4, what is a good year and model to make the swap the easiest. Going into a 2wd 1989 truck auto....Thanks

I'm pretty happy with my 2001 Tacoma for a donor, but you'll have to drill the block for a dipstick tube. 99 or earlier have the hole drilled already, but plugged.
