Does anyone know if certain year models got better corrosion protection than others? Speaking strictly 89-95...

 

Move to Arizona or California if you want corrosion protection. '86-'95 are rust prone in states that salt roads during the winter.

 

Any vehicle in the world is rust prone in salted areas. I will never live in a state where there is snow enough to warrant salt. They just started talking about salt for here in WA. Luckily, we only see snow about once every 8 years.
