Shortly after I bought it, swapped out the front fenders off my 95 2wd as the ones on the truck were rusted out.

My first Toyota started out as this. I bought it for $200 not knowing the shape of the drivetrain (truck didnt run) but I did know it had a very solid frame. When I got it it had some kind of S10 style gas tank in it with no fuel pump.. hence why it didnt run. Threw on a Ford E2000 pump with a boat gas tank and it ran great.

Here's how I got it.

After building a flatbed, adding a 15 gallon fuel cell, welding up the rear end and adding some 33x9.5 BF Mud Terrains I ended up with this.

At this point I still daily drove this truck, so I couldnt really run it as hard as I would have liked. It wasnt long before I found a good deal on the '87 pickup (below.) Now I started to beat on it harder and harder through the trails.

And up to now, the body is beat. Bad. It wasnt that great to start with, as far as rust and what not.. but after a couple years of trail pounding it's done.

It is sitting outside, covered in feet of snow, waiting to be fixed. The plans are this summer put on a rust free '86 cab that I have sitting around and get it fixed up to give to my father. I do not wish to get rid of it, as the drivetrain and frame are so solid. Just needs some TLC that only a Toyota owner can give!

I guess I could put my '87 up here too. I bought it for $400 with a massive oil leak (previous owner installed a new headgasket..upside down..) and a frame that didnt look like it was going to be there much longer. Mainly bought it for the rust free cab and fiberglass box.

I got it running and it made an awesome daily driver. The little 22R knocked..kind of scary like.. but it is still running almost a year and a half later.

I knew the frame was shot. It was about to break on the passenger side near the leaf spring hanger. I bought a rust free frame (along with the 86 cab) from a buddy and started the frame swap the Friday of 4th of July weekend.

Random picture during the swap.

How it sits today on four inches of lift and whatever tires I feel like running that week.. lol

It's still my DD, but gets beat on a little more now that it has a Detroit in the rear.

Oh, thought I'd post up my other Toy.. almost done.. kind of. 350/TH400/203 to locked front/rear Toy axles..rear mount rad..full cage..racing bucket w/ 5 pt.. etc etc

some droop pics for yah....tire is rubbing on frame and stopping compression otherwise it would have a little more travel to it...

just starting to back up the rear

new tires will be 14.5 instead of 18" wide...so that will solve my rub issues..

When I first got it in all it's stocker glory (right), and before I sold the pos I was going to build from the ground up There was just too much wrong with it... (on the left)

If I were going to keep it stock, this would have been a good time to stop.

Hasn't changed much on the outside, but I've got a welded rear 3rd, 33" tires I scored for $75 (for all 5!) a homemade front bumper, and a 1/2 top for the summer. (yes it was an extra top, and yes it's on in the middle of winter )
