ya, ovrrdrive's got it. the pick ups are always one generation ahead of the 4runners because they (P/U's) started one generation earlier. though the 2nd gen runners look like the p/u's, they're still called 3rd gens p/u's.

I hadn't considered the early rise of the pickup over the 4Runner.
