Thumbs down Baffled

Ok I have a 1987 toyota 4runner that a year or two ago now head severe head problems (as in it cracked warped and blew out the head gasget). Now I had some very unhelpfull assistance that cuased this project to take almost a year. Upon finally getting everything back together (including replacing the timeing chain and parts) it wouldn't start and I had to take it to a few good mechanics who informed me they reworked the efi system connections cuase they were hosed. They also replaced the fuel filter.

Alright so I drive the thing and it did leak a little coolant at first but stopped. However my manifold is now glowing red and I have noticed the truck seems a little short on power as well as terrible gas milage. So I take it to all my contacts trying to fix this. Replaced the o2 sensor, replaced the caty, took to toyota dealer for them to look at and got this report.

Check for intake manifold leak (no)
Check and remove valve cover-ok
Check cam timing-ok
reinstalled valve cover and checked cam timing-seems ok
check timing at 12 degrees, should be at 4 degrees as per manual
check o2 sensor ok
check all other sensor ok
removed muffler and test drove no difference.
unable to find the CA use at this time
4 technichians looked at this vehical

While in shop problem seems to dissappear
Told to replace coolant temp sensor, did so still red.
disconnected muffler and caty still red.

So anyone got any idea whats wrong with this truck?

I'm thinkin you have a blocked water passage; maybe HG put on backward?? Incorrect HG? Where was the coolant leaking from??

A glowing manifold usually means lean fuel mixture. Sounds like to fuel problems from the no-start is not completely fixed. Check fuel pressure first.
