How reliable are the automatics that are mated to the 22re's? I've heard that they're known for the shifting selenoids going out in them and aren't quite as fuel efficient as the manuals. It's a wknd wheeler but will eventually be a toy.

 

Who can say depends on just how they were taken care of.

If your starting with a brand new one . Doing all the good things like running a auxiliary cooler changing fluid depending on how severe the use is running a transmission temperature gauge . Heat is the enemy of Automatics the more times they get over temp the quicker things fail.

In day to day driving they do tend to be not as fuel efficient .

Just like any other drive line parts the driving style plays a big part some people are harder then others
