Auto transmission issues

I have a 1992 Toyota 4x4 pickup ext cab v6.

The automatic is having issues. First off the torque converter locking and starting off in first gear issues seem to appear at the same time.

So when Im in drive and I come to a complete stop I take off and it feels like the transmission is slipping. I have a feeling its just starting in 3rd or 2nd and not down shifting into first. If I come to a a stop and put the truck in 1st(L) it take off no problem. Also the torque converter is supposed to lock at like 55 with overdrive off. well its giving me issues and I have to click the overdrive button on and off for it to engage bu then it disengages a few seconds after. I am just wondering what is up? soliniods?

Could be solenoids. First thing to check though, fluid levels. Make sure your full of fluid. Also, if it's black, time to do a flush.

The fluid is cherry and is at the first notch on the hotside when the motor is nice and warm. Im thinking the 2nd gear soliniod is sticking on. When your in 3rd gear what soliniod activates the locking of the torque converter?

Run the diagnostics first; that's what they're there for.
