Auto Trans suddenly revs like in nuetral

Hey guys got a 92 sr5 4x4 pickup that is starting to give me some issues. I will be driving along and all of the sudden it acts like its in nuetral and just whines out then i will pull over to the side of the road, turn the truck off and on again and it will work fine again for a bit. any suggestions please. i believe the speed sensor was changed out about two years ago. I found a lot of posts about the o/d issue and i thank you. I am also having the same issues as others are with the overdrive not working when cold. looking into that one tommarrow with the sensors and thermostat and such.

Check Automatic Transmission Fluid level.

Any slippage is gear is either low fluid or burned clutch pack or a burned od band.

If its not low on fluid.....your trans is toast.

Go check the trans fluig.....wipe the fluid on a clean paper towel...and post a pic of the paper towel.
