the tranny in the 89 Project DD is bad, i've been calling around and a wrecking yard told me that the only trany what will fit is from 88-89. does anyone know if this is the case? i have a lead on an 90 for cheap so i'm hoping it will fit. i'm sure it will physically bolt up, but i'm not sure about the electronics aspect of it.

 

Well I bolted a 92 A340 to a 85ish 22re no problem and put it in my '82 truck. But remember that the issue may be in the computer controls part of the swap.
I just went full manual shift control and love it. And hello to another Washingtonian.

 

ok. i just talked to my buddy who said he thinks that when they did the gen change (1st to 2nd) they changed a bunhc of the wiring and electronics crap. so i need to find an a340h from an 88 or 89.
