auto shifter

I was wanting to know if there was any way that you can remove the gear shifter handle and the auto 4x4 shifter handle for a aftermarket one.

Not really, there is the OD on/off button in the main shifter, plus there is the little lock mechanism. It is a fairly complex little device. I couldn't even figure out how to take it apart when I was looking at it so good luck with that.

It's a lot more simple, you probably could swap that one. Been a while since I looked at it though.

Nope, I don't see anything wrong with the factory one myself.

Replaced mine with a 2wd 4Runner shifter just because I liked the look and feel and because I could. A bit of a pain to install though, had to cut the OD wiring, solder and heat shrink the splice, and drill new attachment holes.

I think the LandCruiser shifter would work too, a bit larger though.
