um...i think you're thinking approach angle. breakover angle is like when you come over a ridge and its between the two axles.

Ok, but how does that relate to the front valence? wouldn't that be primarily wheel base and chassis clearance?

it was in response to victors post about how leaving the valance off would increase your breakover angle

Ahem, I wheel my truck.... The valance looks better then an open area, and it offers a little protection for your radiator.

I'm surprised so many of you prefer it off the truck. I think it looks like its been wrecked without it...

I don't think they're too awfully expensive to replace even from the dealer.

I feel the same about the appearance. I think the truck just looks like someone doesn't care at all about their vehicle, even if its not the case. And as Jay said, it makes the truck complete, it flows nice with the body lines.

well I made the right decision not to buy a new one, cause I smoked a dear last night, and that definetly would have destroyed it again.

well, I ripped the valence off tonight. That is a PITA when you don't have wrenches at hand. I had a cheap one-off brand socket set, but I got it with the help of a pry bar and my trusty angle grinder (thanks Harbor Freight!). I've also reworked my fogs. I think it looks like $h!t, but for now, it will do.

Pics to come tomorrow...

I was so happy I didnt have to remove my old valance, I just tossed the bumper and valance as one peice Got zap straps holding it now, much easier then bolts and in the unlikly situation that it gets ripped off again the zapps will just break.

I assume zap straps are also zip strips? haha, us Americans...

anyways, sounds just like what I did with my headlights. I went to remount them, and I lost 2 of the little screws, so I'm like, forget this. Zip Stripped them SOB's in there, and now I'm golden. Quick access can be had via a nice pair of dikes.
