anyone running 33's and 4.10's? (22R-E) MPG? driveability?

You can buy up the 4.88's on EBAY for around 300-400. Mind you that's just the ring and pinion. You would still need to dig in to change em, or find a labor cost to have a shop install em for you.
Best I can offer you here is to try calling around and see what you get for an estimate at local shops.
I been doing the research on 33's on 4.10's for a month or so, and figured that I'm just gonna buy a set of 31's and deal with the gears until I can afford the, SAS, lockers, the 5.29's and some 35's instead. I've heard too many stories on here and from locals that say it's just barely feasible, and not worth the headache.

nice 3 year old thread resurrection...
but I guess I'll give my two cents anyway. I've been running 4.10s with 33s for about a week now. So far, I've actually been surprised by the performance. Given what everyone says about the combination, I thought I would be barely moving. I was pleasantly surprised that the truck is still very driveable. It's a bit slower, and needs to be revved higher before shifting, but it's definitely tolerable.
However, I must clarify that I have yet to take it on any extended hills. So far I've just been doing city driving that is mostly flat. Thus, I can't really attest to how the combination of 4.10s with 33s performs overall. I'm going to guess that it will struggle on hills, since it did even when I had 31s. Hence, I still have my eyes out for a used set of 4.88s

See, one would think that...but lets say someone was using the search feature because they had a similiar question...like I did a few days ago...
They would come to an unfinished and answerless thread, much like I did.
So in the future, someone may come to a thread with an answer to a question on it, just incase they wonder how much regearing costs... Like I didn't. LOL

I don't know much about gearing but I will say what I know about my own truck.
Fresh 22RE(LC Engineering top end kit and exhaust opened up a little) Fresh A/T, 4.88's, and 33X12.50X15 on 15X10 steel wheels.
I can reach speeds of around 90 with little to no effort with power to spare(with sas and lift I don't like getting up that fast) I have no trouble passing even though i don't do it much. I'm pleased with my setup and as far as cost I've got about 7K just in rebuilding my entire drivetrain so it's all about how much money you want to spend on a truck that's around 20 years old.

I'm running 31's on my turbo with 4:10's and I really want to swap on the brand new 33's I have sitting around, but I know if I do, I'll be putting a new clutch in every month. It sucks right now with the 31's getting the dang thing rolling, I couldn't even imagine what it would be like with 33's. It could be cuz of the lower compression turbo motor but I plan on putting gears in mine before I run my 33's. It runs great once I get rollin, but starting out on a little bit of an incline takes some good clutch slipping to get rollin

This thread has been revived twice. Wow.
My rig: 22re (well worn), 5speed, Xtracab pickup.
4.10's and 31" was a pain, slow off the line. Very similar acceleration to 4.56's and 33".
4.56's and 31 was fun. Very zippy. Lots of pep off the line. RPMs were a little high on the HWY. Gas mileage is great in the city, better than stock. Worse on the HWY.
Currently running 4.56's and 33x12.5 BFG A/T on 10" rims (3.75" backspacing, just for reference).
Speedo is back to stock. Acceleration is about the same as stock (when I bought). Not great. Holds on easy to moderate hills. Can't complain too much. I can't comment on gas mileage on this setup. Winter driving and winter oil is always terrible on gas mileage.

hah! a double resurrection thread....but i still don't see an answer to the OP question: the MILEAGE!
i'm getting about 13mpg with A/T 33x10.5s. i hate it. i was getting 17 when i first got the truck, on stock (~29") size. it went down a little with 31s and a little more with these 33s.
i am unsure if i'll get 4.88s to remedy, or just shoot up to 5.29s so i have room to grow to 35s if i want 'em next.

To Waskilly Wabbit's point..
I've been running 32" BFGs (I know 33's were the tire of topic here but...) for about 5 years on stock everything, getting 15-17 MPG combined. Getting up long hills on the highway required shifting to third most times...THIRD!
THEN...a few months ago I installed an LCE header and Pro FLow exhaust. I also did a timing/oil/water pump kit from ENGBLDR. All told, it feels a lot more powerful, less hesitation on throttle,a nd I can take those hills now in 4th or even 5th all the way to the top! This is the my stock, clogged CAT on still too.
And I did timing, and valve adjustment.
I'm now getting about 18-20 MPG (this was on a 1,600 mile trip to Oregon and back, through some mountain passes both ways).
Point being, it's not just gears - a lot of our engines aren't putting out near the 117 HP anymore due to not being "Fresh".

yeah your trucks suck. I have 33x12.50s on my 94 22RE 5sp... 4.10s.
I get 22-23MPG average. AVERAGE. 175k on the odo.. I calculate every time I fill up
I usually average 290miles on the trip, avg fillup is 15gallons.. I drive 105 miles to and fro work everyday... fillup a lot
290/15X33/28=
22.79MPG
and it's got enough go juice for me and I live in Washington
get a freakin tune up guys
all I have is a new exhuast and cat converter, fresh air filter, snorkel, plugged EGR

yeah i agree with N16HT5, something aint right if yall are getting that sucky of mileage. Also in my opinion as long as you aint in a hurry to go places, its pretty drivable i mean its not the best but it works. But i am in the works for a 5.29 swap and rear locker so mine is just temporary.

old thread revive- my truck came stock with 4.56 according the vin# i went from 235/75- burnt out , 31's burnt out, 33x12.5 no burn out and not to much get up and go but once it's rolling after the lag it's almost like zoom zoom- on the road gas mileage isn't that bad
offroad it's better other than going where i shouldn't go i learned a lesson after about 256.78 bucks later

I run 32/11.50/15 with 4.88 gears on 22re 5 speed and its perfect. A header and open exaust and having it tuned good is the key. I make 19-20 in town and 23 on th freeway. On a big mountain pass I still shift down to 4th butt its only maybe a 130hp engine with high rev cam, its a 4 cyl....

Ive got 33x12.50 Cooper Discoverer stt's on my 4.10 gears.
My 22re will spin them over pretty good, not a whole lot of acceleration,
4-hi wont pull them that good.
But im putting 5.29's in it at the beggining of the year.
I get roughly 16 to 19 mpg.
