Another air injection question

I have a 89 truck with a 22rec, I have a header that blocks off the air injection tube. My question is with the tube not connected and the hose off of the air filter box and blocked what if anything will this do to performance and what effect will it have on the egr if any? thanks Diablo

It's going to slightly lower the exhaust gas temps and stop sucking air from the intake.

Theoretically both can be a "good thing" performance wise.

It may also cause the catalytic convertor to become less efficient.

It'll have absolutely NO EFFECT on the EGR, however, for good or bad.

Your welcome!

thank you mudhippy, do you think the slight drop in temp will offset the rise due to no egr, just kidding thanks

Ya lost me there. Perhaps intentionally...?

If you have no egr, that shouldn't cause any significant rise in exhaust gas temp(at least probably not enough to compensate for deleting the pulsed secondary-air injection system). You didn't mention that you had no egr however. In fact I thought you were saying that you did have an egr.

If no egr...then no effect, right?
