Another 3.0 Bites the dust. Blown Head Gasket.
So we just got through fitting a solid axle under our 89 3.0. She was running and driving perfect. Even fixed the exhaust leak and replaced the knock sensor to get her in tip-top shape. Had the truck about a year. When we got it, it had a blown head. We just put in a boneyard 3.0 with 86,000, and it has run perfect since the day we got it in. Today we were on our way down to Galloway's 4WD to get her a nice new set of rear springs to match the front Marlins, and what does she see fit to do? BLOW THE HEAD GASKET!!! At least that's what we think it did. So we just limped back home and now we gotta go confirm what we think the problem is. I suppose this is its way of saying it would rather have a 3.4 than springs right now :pat:
I guess trying out our solid axle is gonna have to wait a while, but at least we did get ONE trip in:

Damn! Sorry about your luck. 3.4swap4lyfe!!! Screw the 3.0. You know you wanna get a better engine in that ride. Then you'll get to drive it forever and enjoy the driving experience rather than just tolerating another 3.0 until the head gasket blows again.

Why put another guttless underpowered used toys r us engine in it. By the time you get done with it you might as well just go get an adapter kit and a nice GM or MOPAR crate engine. Fully warentyied , you don't need to rev the piss out of it to get the thing to move , Damn side cheaper for maintanence @ performance 4.3 GM or 3.9 MOPAR both v6 and very reliable.
