would you happen to have a link to rebuilding a denso on your own? Or a way to check the stator and whatnot? I know a bit about vehicle electronics but I’m not that well versed. Is it similar to testing a motorcycle stator?

edit-nevermind, it’s all in the FSM. Refers to it as a generator, though but the illustrations all appear to be the same as what I have. I’ll look into this.

Sounds right. My alt failed because of oil deposits. I had it apart to check/replace the brushes but the rebuilder reused screws and one was rounded off, screwdriver would not hold anymore. I ended up buying rebuilt Denso from NAPA. Happy with it.
