Alternative to AFM - Mazda MAF?

This Mazda MAF popped up on ebay today. I noticed the plug is the same as on my 86 22RE. I realize that is not all that would be required to make it work on the 22RE but curious if anyone's done the research on these as to whether they might work?

Why ??

What possible benefit are you hoping to get ??

I for sure don`t know enough about Mazda`s to even venture a guess

Just because they happen to share the same connector means nothing.

Factory AFMs carbon sweeps wear out. I went through several used and reman units before having to combine parts from two to make one good one. I realize that the same connector is not an indicator of compatibility.
