Ok so Im posting this as Im sure someone else might run into this issue at some point down the track. Issue wasnt too much grease. Issue was I was trying to turn the hubs the wrong way!

They are pretty beat up, each time I tried to turn them it was dark out, all I could really see were the little arrows on the hubs so I was just trying to turn them the shortest distance (i think i was turning them anti clockwise when they should have been going clockwise)
