air intake

I have a 93 p/u and when i rev it up a little bit and let off when the motors winding down it makes a rapid poping sound. what is this from it just started awhile back and i am not sure if i need to worry?
any help would be appricated thanks

Sounds like backfiring to me, you sure it's coming from the air box?

its not backfireing the sound is coming from the air box and its only on when i rev it alittle bit...?

Could be from the air tube that leads to the resonator that goes to the PAIR valve. (the skinny air tube that runs alongside the main air intake tube)

do i need to worry about it or not???
It just started doing it ive got 207K on the motor so im expecting things to start going wrong

is this on the 3.0? if so mine does the same thing and its becuase one of my vacuum lines it unhooked from the airbox. i think its something to do with egr?

i have a 4cyl but ill take a look at the hoses mabey theres a crack in one.

Problem solved!!! the air box clam was bent and not clamping but just hanging in place i bent it back and it runs like new!
