Aftermarket Muffler & Cat.
I needed to know what you guys think i should get to increase my trucks performance and sound. My Catalytic converter is clogged and muffler has many small holes in it so they both need to be replaced. I will eventually buy headers to go along with it, but I was wondering what kind of mufflers you guys have used on the 3.0 engines that made a difference in performance. Or if there is a way to tell what a certain exhaust system is going to sound like on your truck. I dont want my car to sound like a Honda Civic by any means, I'd like it to sound more like a truck with a little more thump to it, thanks.

1. Get a Magnaflow cat on Ebay (everyone will agree) and a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/40_super.html (some will agree).
2. Use the yellow blinking SEARCH button for billions of answers/opinions pertaining to your questions.
3. Theres no such thing as a "difference in performance" with the 3.0 untill you get headers.
4. Don't be such a newbie.

How well do the Magnaflow mufflers work with the v6 3vze engine? Also, do you know how the Borla mufflers work? Where I live, it seems that every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a Flowmaster in their Toyota. I just want to try something different. PLEASE HELP!

There are sound clips with the magnaflow on the 3.0 in this link.

I run an 18" body magnaflow on mine and love it.
KTMR1der03, another thing to consider as well... cats do not just go bad unless it is a manufacturer defect. If your cat is clogged then that would not be a manufacturer defect, you have something else going on with your motor to cause your cat to get clogged. You may want to look into that before replacing your cat or you will be having another clogged cat in the near future.
