Adjustable vacuum on inner fender?

Hi everybody,

My first 4Runner and my first post here. I was wondering what the thing on the pass. inner fender that has 3 vacuum lines going to it and a large plastic adjustment screw on it does?

That sounds like the vacuum canister for the ADD. If you disable ADD per Little Joe's directions on 4x4wire then you won't need that and you can yank it. I like to tell people that thing is the toilet float - if the water ever gets that high the suspension will raise the truck a little more. Sad thing is a couple of people believed me.

holy thread necro

are you talking about the white plastic screw on the upper intake manifold?

that would be the screw to adjust the idle-up valve

ummmm, no if you look, the new guy that just posted and dug up this old thread mentioned NOTHING about the inner fender; he also mentioned that he had a 22re, and that his truck was an 86; did they have ADD in the 86 pickups?

as far as I can dig up, that showed in in 89, so how could his 86 truck have the ADD system?
