Adding A/C to my 87

I have a bunch of a/c parts laying around from different parts trucks. I'm going to add a/c to my 87 and I'm wonder if anyone can answer this question.
Does it matter what evaporator box you use under the dash. The one I have is from a V6 but I have a 22re. I'm not sure if the wiring is the same? I don't have a 4cyl. box to compare it to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I gotta change the heater core so I want to get everything done under there while the dash is torn apart.

you're going to be under there anyways working on the heater core so it shouldn't be too hard to test fit the v6 box.

Dove into it this afternoon. I knew the ac box would fit I'm just not sure about the wiring. The box is now in...most wiring plugs right in. There's one pigtail with five wires coming off the idle control that doesn't have anywhere to plug into.

Anybody have any idea where/what is suppsoe to do/be.

The 3VZE box had some extra circuitry; a high pressure cutoff, or something. You could probably ignore it. FSM has excruciating detail.

my 85 4runner w/ 4cyl has ac but it's not factory so I have no way of comparing the two. The wiring in the 4runner is definitely simpler than the v6 box I put in my truck.

At least the heat works now. I got six months to get the ac figured out.
