Good deal Waskilly! I will like to add however that one should really never shift on the fly while moving any speed past 0 mph or bad sounds/ binding occurs. I have em on my 2nd gen runner and is a no good! I know that most texts say it's a "shift on-the-fly" system but the actual moaner's manual says to put the vehicle in neutral with the brake depressed before attempting to engage the transfer case into gear. It is nice not having to reverse out of gear tho!!

i do not understand this thread. whats the question? add differentials lock or unlock inside the axle housing in the middle beside the third member via a vacumm controlled fork. these axles have permantly locked hubs. manually locking hubs are just that, manual, and lock and unlock by hand at each hub. transfer cases can be shifted on the fly from 2wd to 4wd hi as long as your axle is locked and moving at the same speed as the rear axle, but not from 4wd hi to 4wd lo. you will need to be at a complete stop or darn close to it.

He posted informative tech. But he got banned for being a bad vendor. He vengefully removed every post that was helpful in retaliation.

So that's what happened...I knew he left and a lot of his posts were deleted, but I never knew the whole story. Shame he had to go out that way...

Case closed

Red face

Just what do you need to Know?

ADD is one thing

Automatic Hubs Quite another thing myself i think one of Toyota`s poorer ideas.

Thanks RJR, I've read that page before, was just wondering if anyone had copied this specific thread over somewhere. Mainly curious if it had additional info (the wayback machine didn't have a copy).

PS. Gonna try following your "3vze Intake Plenum and Upper Engine Cleaning and TuneUp" thread this weekend!
