Acceleration Problem, Clutch??

i have recently started having this problem. i will accelerate from a stop in 1st, and it will pull but not as much as it should. when i press the gas pedal almost all the way to the floor, it starts to rapidly accelerate, as if i have changed gears. it seems to do this worst after i have driven about 20 miles. the only thing i can think of is the clutch slipping or something similar. any ideas??

When you say:

What exactly do you mean? Are you saying the engine revs up quickly or the vehicle itself speeds up quickly. Typical of a slipping clutch is that you'll see the engine revs rise without the vehicle speed increasing. Usually worst in the higher gears and when going uphill.

when you press the gas pedal the vehicle speed increases rapidly as if i had downshifted. it also tends to jerk forward when the pedal is pressed. i thought it might have something to do with the clutch but it started before i put in a clutch kit 2 weeks ago and it hasnt changed. it seems to do it worst in 1st and 2nd although i can feel it some in 5th.
