acceleration issues

i just got done with my head gasket job, i got everything put back together.
but now it seems to have absolutely no power. accelerating doesnt really happen. it has new plugs. it starts up quick. but no power. could my timing be off? it does idle ok. but the idle may need adjustment

I would start with timing.

Check TPS (plugged in?!? Adjusted properly?)
Check Timing (10 btdc warmed up w/jumpers intalled E1 & TE1)
Check knock sensor wire/pigtail

Make sure your dizy is not 180* out. Sounds like a timing issue to me.

im thinking it is the timing as well. because i tweaked the dizzy a tad while it was running and it was definitely affecting how it idled. and when accelerating, it seems ok until i hit 2300 rpms and up. and it barely makes it up a hill.

one big solution that definitely helped though was checking my plug wires for correct firing order... : / i had two out of place on my drivers side

can someone give me a correct run down of how to get my rotor in the right direction when the engine is in tdc? so i can makes sure it is where it should be before i adjust my timing?

When cyl one is at tdc, your rotor should be pointing at the #1 on the cap.

My experience with the 3vze, if your dizzy is off by 1 tooth, the engine will not run, and even if it does.... it should not idle smooth, or start quickly. I would start searching for vacuum leaks, and recheck that you have routed all your vacuum lines correctly.
