Well like I was saying before, when I plugged the wire into the sensor my truck ran awesome until I hit about 2500-3000rpm and then the CEL came back on and the truck went back to how it's been running.. so-so.

so when you plug the sensor in, everything is fine for a few moments and then goes bad...
and if the sensor is not plugged in, everything is bad the whole time?

I will be driving and accelerating just fine and when I hit exactly 2000 rpms I can actually hear and feel the motor change as the CEL comes on, and I lose power. I tested the wire from the sensor back to the ECU and it seems to be fine. What is starting to happen at 2000 rpms that may be kicking the cel on with the knock sensor code 12 ?

Mine is doing exactly the same thing, but it's also flashing 5 before 12. It sure is annoying isn't it. If I find something out, I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks buddy, I hope we can get this worked out soon. I read somewhere on here that the EGR starts kickin in around 2500-3000 rpm, dunno if that's right but I guess it could be.

I set my timing today with the jumper on the diagnostic plug. It's set at 8 with jumper on and it jumps to 12 without jumper. Runs pretty good, no pinging but CEL still comes on around 2200 now. sigh...
