ac compressor question

Never worked on a AC compressor before or had to change one out. A few months ago the compressor froze up on the 92 ex cab. I just cut the belt because I was in a hurry. I picked up one of a parts truck and the compressor spins fine.

I was thinking that I could change the clutch or something with the parts one and leave mine on an hooked up as far as the lines go. That way I would not have to worry about draining it and then paying to have it recharged.

Is this possible?

no. if the compressor froze up its most likely internally frozen. you need to replace the accumulator and the expansion valve and flush out the system before u install another compressor
