95 runner rear defroster/back up light bypass?

Hey I got a runner that's got a few problems. I looked at the ewd and both the rear defroster and back up lights don't work.
3v at the rear defroster, voltage goes down to 2v
My question is can you bypass all the crap wires relay and run new ones.
Battery, switch,backup lights
I'd still be using the trans switch and dash defroster switch.
Same with the defroster pretty sure the reading on both are 12 volts any thoughts?
Seems like it would be easier( in my head) to do it that way if it will work
Thanks in advance.

I know there are lots o threads about the defroster and repairing the relay tried to get it lol.
Back up lights don't work for some reason bulbs are good truck is 3.4 swapped.

reverse and defroster are not linked.
As far as the reverse wiring goes. More than likely it was not wired up. Auto? 5spd? check to make sure its connected. The reverse lights are directly related to the 3.4 swap wiring.

Yea 99% sure it wasn't hooked up, looked under the trans(auto) and it was pluged in just no back up lights ill check for power to the switch..
Wires to hook up once I find the wire color color.
Cel wire
Reverse lights I think
Who knows what else :-/

I know the defroster and reverse lights are not relatedat all, just wondering if anybody had tried to hard wire them I guess with any luck..
