95 Runner lost power

I have a 95 runner and it has lost power. Engine is 3.0vze. I know these things are slow anyway, but this is not normal. Going up moderate hill I have little power. I put my foot in it an nothing happens. I am thinking plugged cat because I also have been smelling a hot metalic smell. Maybe need a new fuel filter. It's been this way a couple of months, but I haven't had time to fix it. Now its getting worse and harder to crank. Really stumbles at start up antil it gets warm. Could this be the fuel pump? O2 sensor? EGR? TPS? Has anyone had similar promlems. I am literally having problmes making 40 mph on a good uphill! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's what I was thinking. I will do that. Nope. No weird noises and it doesn't even miss or sputter except when I first take off.

i have a 91 that had no power after rebuild.. i ended up doing a fuel filter and also tranny flush and refill and filter and it made a big difference. i now have power and running good again. if u have not done a tune up for a while i would do one.
