95 'runner bouncing in front--help!
my runner is bouncing in the front end.
what happened is me and my wife were out messin around a little bit, and i hit a mud hole that was a little deeper than anticipated. it didnt seem to awful, but when we got back on road, the front was definatilty bouncing...what could that be? i thought there was mud jammed in the wheel or something, tryed to wash it out with a hose, but still bouncing.

Try this...with your truck standing still, bounce the front end up and down by pushing down on the hood. Once you stop, it should make maybe 1 bounce and stop relatively quickly. If it doesn't and keeps bouncing maybe 2-3 times, one or both of your shocks are dead meat.

ok so i tryed it and it seems pretty solid....so i just looked under the truck to see if i could see anything i didnt notice the first time, and i did see that the boot on the CV was missing its inner clamp! so since it was off i went ahead and pulled it back to see what it looked like and it was seperated. so it was the CV. I do want to thank you for your help tho, I thought it was a shock too, but it didnt look like it was sitting funny, like i had busted it out right. so it needs a CV!

I don't understand how the truck was bouncin' because of the CV lol. Maybe shaking or rattling but not bouncing. Might just be me. Glad you got it figured out.
