95 4Runner Rear Window... help!

To my utter horror, as i am rolling the rear window up tonight i hear a clunk and the glass goes crooked as it tries to go up. I removed the access cover on the gate, and found laying in the bottom what looks like a piece that holds the right side of the glass. It has a track on it where it looks like the small nylon wheel on the regulator attaches too. Well this piece with the track was all rusted out... Is there any websites with an exploded view of this? I can hardly even see in there let alone reach in there. Anybody with experience with the back glass???

Thanks,

It's been a while, but the piece you will need is the regulator. This is the mechanism that looks like scissors that raises and lower the glass evenly. Not sure if the piece that attaches to the glass comes with this assembly or not. My FSM isn't here currently, so I can't check for you.

So, the part that actually connects to the bottom of the window came off? If so, the same thing happened to me. First, with the tailgate down, roll up the window a little bit so you can get the problem area to a position you can reach. You'll have to close the latches on the side of the gate in order to raise the window with the gate down.

I just put the track back on to the little wheel and glued (epoxy) the window back into the rubber slip. It has held up for over a year now. I would use a glue that doesn't dry totally rigid.

Great.. thanks for the replys. The piece in question is pretty rusted out... so much so that i dont think the little wheel will stay in the track. Once it pops off track there isnt much that holds that piece to the glass, so it just falls off. I havent checked to see if that part is available without the regulator... i sure hope so!
