95 4runner - heater problem
I have a 95 4runner v6 and I have a problem with the heater. The cooling system works fine until I turn the heater on and it almost empties the radiator. I can't find out where it is going. I have checked the oil and the tail pipe is dry. It is not leaking inside next to the heater core. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh yeah. It is not smoking either.

Could be the rear heater pipes are leaking, they have been known to rust out under the truck. Have a look underneath the passenger side while the engine is running and the heater is on, and see if anything is leaking.

My dad found the problem. It must have been an air pocket in the hoses next to the firewall. Just think Toyota wanted $1900 to replace my head gasket. My dad fixed it for $50 and that included a new thermostat, spark plugs and distributor cap. Could it be a busted head gasket if it is not smoking and there are no water in the oil and no water coming out the tail pipe?
So now I get to do the other things that needed to be done. Seat covers & a rear tail pipe.
Thanks everyone
