Smile 95 4runner with blown headgaskets

I am a new member as of today. I have a 95 4runner, 157,000 miles, 6 cylinder, 3.0 engine, sr5. I am trying to figure out course of action now. I will probably have to use a shop for repairs. Should I repair head gasket or swap for 3.4 engine? This is a work truck, I am self employed. Everything else on truck is fine, just replaced radiator (overheated). I found a 3.4 out of a 2003 tacoma for $1500. How much should I expect to pay to install if that's the route I go? I am not knowledgeable about auto repairs but I am doing my research now because I really like the 4runner and it still looks great. Any help would be great! Thank you!! :

Welcome and searching is going to be your best friend here. IMO with motor swaps and any custom work DIY is the best way to go.(yes I know its not always fesable) I started with nothing tool wise and saved worked my ass off and started getting everything I needed as I went. If you do this type of stuff or want it in your truck you cant go wrong with DIY. Best knowledge gained which is as good as gold and you did it so you know how to fix it (cuase it will happen)

Good luck and again welcome! Oh... and Search there is an entire section on swaps, and everything else in between.
