95 4 runner changing belts

I've spent hours now trying to figure this out.
I'm trying to change the belts on my 4 runner. I see how to loosen the belt on the right but I don't see the adjusting bolts everyone is talking about on the other two belts. Can anyone help? Pictures? diagrams?
I would appreciate it.
thanks

Those are some good resources but I'm not seeing anything that even mentions belts.

The belts, etc., ... that's in the 'maintenance' section of the FSM. Usually in the very beginning.

RW.... I was asking him that, the engine type... But I'm curious... did they still offer a 22RE in 95 in the Runner? I should know that... But it would just help if it was here, no doubt.

Running around, I'll be back later, Randes... hang in there, man... you'll get it.

the book doesn't tell me were the pulleys are. I just see how I can do the one on the right. I don't see pulleys or tensioners, and don't know where the plate would be to take off. Seems like it should be obvious like the other one.
I'll go look again. Chef I read your message but not sure my reply went thru.
thanks

Lower left, underneath there's a bolt, but when I un-screw it it doesn't do anything.
I guess the pulleys are what hold the belts? if I loosen them I don't see where they slide in to loosen the belts?

Ahhh, 3.0, I'm almost no use to ya... I have a Haynes, but it's not on me. The FSM HAS to show you where everything goes/how to hook it up step by step... You just haven't found that section just yet. I KNOW how hard it is to make ANYTHING out of the FSM when your head is about to explode, hahaha... But you gotta give it a couple more look-see's, ya know?

I had gone through my albums, since you asked, "take some pics?"... figuring you had a 22RE(I remember now, your threads, etc, but I'd forgotten, lol).... Had a post all ready to make, then thought "I should refresh first to be sure he hasn't answered which motor and posted up a VeeZee! hhehee... Sure nuff...

Richard(Redeth on here) has just had a rebuild done. He might have pics up in his build thread. Not sure.

Okay, I see now the lower left, if I loosen the pulley it will slide; right.
And I think I got the alt. slide bolt and the center bolt to swivel.
But the upper left? I have alot of oil in that area. I'll see if I can clean it. I see some bolts but not clear enough to see which ones, and looks like it'll be tough to get to.
Not sure what you meant about the plate? and someone else said I needed a breaker bar?

They probably meant prybar.. In case you can't break the bolts? Maybe the bolt you're goinng to have to break free is notorious for sticking up? Not sure. I use prybars to tighten the tension and then torque down the lock nut, then adjuster.

My set up looks like this............ Which isn't going to help you much..........

Here's one adjustable bracket on mine, bottom right in the pic.... AC Tensioner Pulley........

In this pic, on top, you can see/get to the 'Ilder Pulley', which is center of front of motor/top........ (CENTER OF THE FRONT of the motor, obviously, lol... Behind the air intake tube. From the front, you can't hardly see it cuz of that air pipe and the Shroud. But as I said, ... this wont help a 3.0 owner much.....

Okay, I think I have the upper right and lower left figured out.
It took awhile but heres the upper left. I see the bracket that has a slide on it but I don't see how it effects the pulley. It looks totally separate and I don't want the engine falling out cause I loosened this bolt. Does this look familiar to you? I can't imagine what that slide would do if not adjust that pulley tension?

ok sounds like you have the alt and the ac figured out and you have one of the two on the power steering pump. You have the slider bolt on the left of the pulley to loosen but you need to break the one to the right side of the pulley loose, its the pivot.

no don't loosen the pulley. The top right image in your photo bucket shows the bolt. Its just to the right behind the pulley. It pivots on that bolt. It is long and goes through the ps pump.

Yes, the 22RE and 3VZE were both offered for the '95 4Runner.

The bolt on the backside of the power steering mount is tough to get too.

WOOT, I knew someone would stop by while I was gone Thanks, Yotard! lol. Sorry, can't help but laugh everytime I read that ID name, haha. Thanks to you, as well, RW!

Yeah, my PS pump is different, Randes.... So it works differently on mine, via an 'Idler Pulley'.... It's a pulley that's attached to nothing but the head, for tightening up the Water Pump and Power Steering pump belts. On yours, it appears that the bolt is threaded right through the pump, as stated, so when you break the lock nut loose, then torque that clockwise, I would imagine it tightens the belt, by pulling the pump toward the Passenger fender... The PS pulley itself is fixed, as it's turning the pump motor itself....

Greasy mess can sure fuggle your momentum up, eh? hahaha.

95 3.0 5spd??? Thought you'd said that to me in PM, just curious.

Hopefully you got it by now

PS> Thanks for the answer, RW!

Aint that the truth!!!! I just installed a new ac compressor so its fresh in my mind.

Chef glad to give you a good laugh...that's why I use that SN but I'm not half as yotarded as I used to be. This is a great site. Clean engine by the way I like your truck.
