HELP!

Out of the blue one day the brake pedal started pulsating.
I changed out front rotors. didn't help. I took it into the shop.
They replaced the master cylinder, blead all brake lines, checked the rear drums. didn't work. don't have ABS- or its only on the rear- but from what I'm told its not related to ABS anyway.

The vibration is slight and only when slowing down to speeds under 15 miles per hour. about 20 feet from a stop sign. Again, its only on the pedal, not the truck at all. I feel it on my foot.

When I slam on the brakes, doesn't happen, breaks work fine, but the pulsation is extremely annoying. Like an itch that you can't reach

Can anyone come up with a solution? My mechanic tried everything.
He said he could work on the calipers, that's where we left it.

An old man once told me to never let tire shops put my tires on by air. he said make sure they torque them to specs with a torque wrench. At tire shops they over torque them with air and then put a torque wrench on them but yet they are over torqued and they think they are torqued right. He said when they do this it can warp the rotors. If you think about it it makes sense, plenty sense so make sure you torque your lug nuts to specs. Ever since I have made tire shops use a little elbow grease they get mad but its my truck and I want it done that way. Mabey this is what happened?

we bought an 884runner that already had new tires put on it, the lugs were on there so tight istruggled to get the 1 and only 1 wheel off i needed to get off and then couldn't get it off the hub...see the thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f115...me-off-187067/ ......and had a hell of a time...i would suspect that was the culprit.


i would think any brake shop worth it's salt would be able to help you out properly with this.

Since you replaced the rotors already we can probably rule that out. As the others have said it might be a case of overly tight lug nuts, sounds funky but it does happen.

If you haven't done the rears yet you may want to pull the drums and take a look at them so you can rule out those as the culprits. The more things you can eliminate makes it eaiser to find the part that causes the issue.


Keep us up to date. I know that sometimes its the little things that drive us nuts with these rigs.
