94 Runner Blower motor removal

Anyone got any helpful hints on removal of the blower motor in a 94 Runner. The motor is so noisy it is driving me nuts! Did a couple of searches, but found no threads that indicate how or how much work is involved in removing the motor. Looked under the dash and it seems pretty involved. Any insight from someone that has removed the blower motor in a gen 2 would be great.

Remove the glove box, then remove the plastic cover that covers the bottom of the blower motor. It is mounted with the squirrel cage pointing up. 3 more screws and the thing will drop out the bottom.

That's the condensed version of how to do it, its pretty simple once you get in there and sese how its done. Just be prepared to become an expert contortionist.

Thanks DeathCougar. Anything under the dash requires flexibility that I don't have on these cold evenings. Just read a thread that said I need to take the entire dash apart. Doesn't seem right and hope your description is more accurate. The FSM in this case is not worth a hoot, treating the blower as a sealed unit.

You definetly do not have to completely take the dash apart, just the cover over the blower motor itself.
