'94 Pickup Heater Core Removal

I've searched already and read some comments but didn't see any specific instructions. The service manual doesn't help much; anyone have any online resources with better pictures? I've removed the glove box assembly and the manifold piece that connects the fan to the main unit so I can see part of the core.

Thanks in advance for any help.

keep going...

at least on my 87, you can't get the heater core out with out removing the housing its in. The hard lines are clamped in with screws that you can't get at untill the housing is out. So you get to pull the entire dash, and most of whats behind it.

Then rotate the housing so that the hard lines come through the firewall and its out.

I am currently looking for new hard lines, because one of mine was leaking. No luck with that yet. You might want to do the same, I'd hate to put a new heater core in, and then be back in the dash the following year for lines.

I have a '95 Jimmy SLS and had to do the same , drop the entire dash and the steering column and then it took me 15 mins to put in Heater Core , then the rest of the day to put it all back , it was a learning experience none the less .
I like the old days when you could do a core in 3 hours or less from start to finish , Old School ..................Those were the days
