If it ran before you adjusted the timing, but wont now... timing must be off.

Is it firing/back firing at all?
All plug wires tight? Do you have spark?

I would check everything on the ignition first.

yea its getting spark. and the timing is good. but i did remove the tps to test it and then put it back in. if the tps was installed incorrectly by me, would that keep the engine from starting?

I think if the TPS is installed incorrectly it will create a no start situation, though I could be wrong, it could just cause bad idle.

Have you checked all wires you touched? Also are you 100% sure put everything back together correctly? EG: When no. 1 is at compression, the rotor should point to no. 1 on the cap.

If everything is as it was taken apart then it naturally should work. I would double check the timing and make sure its dead on. With my Lexus if it isn't dead on its all down hill from there. Then you say you have fuel, so check spark, then check compression.
