Hi I have 94 Toyota pickup 4x4 with 22re. I put a new timing chain and guides in it and now under a load it misses pretty bad and backfires sometimes but it idles perfect. Didn't have this problem till I changed the timing chain. Any suggestions? Thanks

 

Are you sure that you got the timing chain marks lined up properly when you put the new timing chain on ?. What about the distributor, is it set at 5* BTDC ?.

 

Thanks I'm pretty sure timing chain is lined up properly but not sure on the timing. 5 btdc is where it needs to be? Would the tps need adjusting after the new chain was installed? Thanks for the help.
