93 PU hesitates after warm up

I am dealing with this prob. going on for 3 months! Glad I found you guys. Ive got a 1993 toy 2wd. 22Re put a fresh engine in went to an electric fan (just for a/c IN PHOENIX) anyway after about 300 miles that darn fan quit and it got a little hot since then it stumbles unless you have the pedel to the metal.
Had to advance the timing quite a bit just to get it to move! when timed properly it coughs out of the intake. Changed the head gasget just as a precaution and no change. burped it to many times to count adjust the tps no change. what am I missing????? Thanks for your suppoort.

When you say fresh engine, what do you mean? Was it a rebuilt engine? Any machine work done? When you replaced the head gasket did you check for warped surfaces?

Rebuilt...You pulled a 22re and had the same 22re rebuilt? Reason I ask is this....If it was a rebuilt 22r the timing is set differently than a 22re....Not trying to insult your yota intelligence, but you said "something simple."

I bought a fresh rebuild 22re to replace the 22re I had. The new engine ran GREAT untill it got warm. now like crap. I think after some investigation I think Im gonna have to bite the bullet and take the head back off. and go to a Toyota gasket. Dont want to!!
