Question 93 pickup won't start, but pushstart works

1993 Toyota pickup, RWD, 22re 5spd manual.

The truck won't start the normal way--turning the key in ignition. Push starting still works and then it will drive without problems.
When I turn the key to start (clutch pedal in, obviously), nothing happens. No sounds.

Probably not the battery. Lights/radio/clock etc all work, and I even tried a new battery.

This problem has happened twice before, but both of those times it fixed itself by the next day. This time..it's been several weeks.

I checked all fuses under the hood and on the driver's side, they all look fine. I removed pretty much all the paneling so I can look at the wiring, but I didn't find anything wrong.

Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

starter contacts and solenoid, pretty common, extensively talked about on here, probably would have been found in a search. Maybe the relay if your not getting any clicks whatsoever from the starter.

Of course! I should've searched..

One of your other posts reminded me of something, and I'd like to ask you.

The thing I highlighted in red..Is that on a large plastic wire-lookin thing?
There's one hanging by my starter, but I didn't think of it until I saw your post about a starter wire. I'm looking at the service manual, it looks like the thing that attaches to a magnetic switch. I'm going try attaching it somewhere..

But..I'm not getting any clicks anywhere, you said it could be the relay. Hm.

I don't have one of those on my starter, not sure what it's for, but doubt that's the problem.

If it wont jump start but will push start...
My bet is your starter ground wire fell off.
