hey yall! i am in some serious need of help with my rotors. I have tried searching through the threads anddid all that but it dosen't make any sence when i compare it to my hubs etc. I am trying to replace the rotors and i took the caliper off no prob. but then i came into a huge prob and i can't get the hubs off to get to the rotors!!






can somebody help me out here?

 

Brass punch and or small screwdriver for the cone inserts. Once there out they should come right off.

 

what's the "cone inserts" ?
edit: i figured out what they are but what is the BEST wat to get them off? i have heard of the hammer option but is there any way that is less damaging?

 

For the cone washers I never had any that were seized up really bad. I would lightly hammer a very fine tip flat blade screwdriver in the slot, spread it slightly and smack the outside of a hub with a hammer to pop it out (leave the nuts on, the will fly if you aren't careful).

To get the hub separated from the rotor... Not as fun lol. I have a few extra lugnuts laying around that I use to screw on to the end of the lugs to preserve the thread. If I have time I will hose them down with PB Blaster and let it sit overnight first. I have at times used a torch to heat things up, MAPP gas usually. It does help. A nice hand held sledge, a nice drift preferably brass, a few blocks of wood or whatever you have and a swift beating. The rotors aren't difficult they can just be time consuming. I hope this helps.
