93 5speed 4wd ecu trouble!!

So I bought a 93 22re 4wd 5 speed… with a supposedly bad ecu? My question is what years will make it run? Not worried about a engine light… just wanting to get it running! The vin give me the 89661-35830 which says for a 4 runner? The numbers are gone in the actually ecu so I can’t confirm that? The truck will run about 2 minutes then die and the light comes on… I’ve checked for codes and none show… the guy I got it from had wheeler it the day before ecu gave trouble I assume he got it wet?

Well ... a bad ECM could always cause all sorts of problems. But replacing one is a big step, and in general should be the last step of your diagnosis.

"Runs for a few seconds then dies" is the classic sign of a VAF-COR problem. Here's how you can find/eliminate that: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-quits-312747/
