i like the school dances....we know most of the kids anyway from being so active within the district (LUMPY knows that one)...and they get locked in, lots of chapperones (we are forbidden by my son....hahahahah) and a constable is there too....and we have to go in to pick him up too.

I remember 14.

sorry just got a cold chill again.

what to do?

what to do?

look for gaskets for the water-pipe-to-timing-cover-things

look for bolts for same.

if I had a hoist like ROGERMAN I'd be golden. that's what I get for bustin' his balls over that.

g'morning all.

have training today and then have to have a staff meeting so won't be back until mid afternoon.

i'm nervous about lifting that head in....taking it out was one thing where i didn't have to be all that careful, but setting it down in there is another thing, don't want to dink the gasket.

i think i'm gonna shoot off some emails to my wife's 2 brothers and see if i could get some muscle out here for like 10 minutes......I can have Joe hold the wire harness out of the way, but i would love if someone could help guide the back of the head on.....45lbs or so at full arm's reach is a bit much to drop straight down.....gotta figure this out.

have fun today all.

The biggest issue is keeping the cam gear out of the way...I used a worn out bungee cord attached to the hood to hold tension on it while you try and get it seated. I have a pic I just gotta see where I have it.

Extra hands with this would be good but you'll do fine. just don't knock the hood support out.

was going to do an April Fools joke and tell you guys it was running but then I figured maybe nobody would come back, so I voted against it.

was out in the garage, doing a MUCH NEEDED clean up....I'v noticed my floor jack looses altitude every now and then....that's nice....so ever now and the the diff is just being supported by NOTHING....so I decided I would sweep under there and use a bottle jack to take some of the weight....well the friggin diff decided to almost point the driveshaft area at the floor, turned about 90 degrees......i hurried up and got that bottle jack under there and got it all pointing the right way now. i hope that little episode doesn't hurt anything.

work all day tomorrow......I wanted to clean the garage so that just in case I get little elves to help me, we aren't tripping on tools and stepping on stuff.....i even put some carpet under it my wife was throwing away....no more cold concrete for me!!!

Hmmm... its not that heavy. I have never had issues with mine. Of course, I grew up on solid steel SB chevy heads, that has probably skewed my frame of reference a touch.

You aren't attaching anything to the head prior to installation in the vehicle other than the EGR crap, right?
