Ditto with the wife helping out. It always seams easier to have her help until she does and like previously posted more questions than a hiper active four year old. On top of the fact that i can't even ask her to hand me tools. By the time i get done explaining what the tool is and why i need it it would take less time and hassle to just go get it myself. There's a nice unwritten rule between us that if i'm in the garage working it's guy time out there. I'm still secretly jellious of you guys that have girls that will help out and understand whats going on.

me: Ok I really need you to do the jack

Her: no, your're gonna say i did it wrong or the trck is gonna fall over and crush you

me: it's on stands, it can't fall over from you doing that

her:well, what then?

me: here, i'll put this brick under the jack and i'll show you how to work this

her: this is stupid, wait for Joe

me: I can't yell at Joe, he'll never help me again

and commenced to showing her sevearl times how to release it / tighten it and raise it too.

plan was .....release the handle let the diff lower, tighten the handle, jack it to keep it still...while i release the bottle jack

anyway, all went well, nobody was hurt.

her:am i done?

me: yes, now leave me out here.

You're a brave man.

Clearly you've never seen jack stands kick out though, because I can assure you it does happen, even on level ground. If it weren't for the fact I had the rear of my truck up on two sets of stands it'd be on the ground right now as a result of me trying to hammer out the leaf hanger bolts.

FAILBOAT is circling................

nice paint-job on the pan is all scraped up ...still just trying to get the pan to lay just under where it needs to be.

took a 4.5 minute break, looked at things. passenger's side body mount for the diff is bound.....gave it a push with my foot, worked the jack a little, gained about 1 more inch....i think that may be enough.

oh yeah...readers......do NOT put your steering dampener on BEFORE putting the pan back on, it WILL get in your way.

Not like anyone is gonna get a good look under there anyways! Just hand one of your kids the paint and a small brush once it's all done and on to do some touch-ups.
